RTM Electric, a division of 1190428 Alberta Ltd. devoted to providing electrical services, is an Edmonton based electrical contractor focusing on public sector, institutional and commercial clients throughout Alberta. With extensive experience in project management, civil works, concrete, general construction, 1190428 Alberta Ltd. is a full-service contractor with an amazing team of experienced and qualified tradesmen selected to ensure the successful completion of any project. RTM Electric currently employs over 25 employees ranging from first year electrical apprentices through to Master Electricians, seven of which are journeyman electricians. With this depth in staffing, RTM Electric can ensure the right team is selected and dedicated to meet the unique needs of any project.
Over the past 17 years RTM Electric has had the pleasure of providing services throughout the province to municipal, provincial and federal governments, school boards, as well as numerous institutional and commercial clients. RTM Electric provides the same quality of workmanship and project management process whether a small installation or a major government capital project. Our clients are of utmost importance, which is why open communication, precise scheduling and a high level of professionalism ensure that our projects come in on-time and on-budget.
RTM Electric has an extensive in-house safety program which is strictly adhered to by all staff. Our program is recognized and approved by the Alberta Safety Council as well as Alberta Workers Compensation Board. In addition we have Certificate of Recognition (COR) certification from the Province. We feel strongly that every employer is obligated to provide their employees with a safe, inclusive work environment, and our in-house safety program and external recognition gives our employees peace of mind to perform their jobs safely and effectively, without risk of injury. In addition, RTM Electric strictly follows the Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) Act which regulates the electrical trade in Alberta. Under AIT it is mandatory as an electrical contractor employer to ensure all staff meet the necessary qualifications for the trade. Having these programs in place ensures that RTM Electric is providing the right personnel for every project, to ensure successful completion every time.
Richard Paquet - Director | Master Electrician
As owner operator of RTM Electric, Richard brings 25+ years of industry experience to the profile of the company. Richard's fast progression through the trade from apprentice to Master Electrician is a testament to his work ethic and commitment to growth. He possesses an uncanny ability to effectively oversee numerous projects while ensuring code compliance and a high standard of quality is attained on every job we do. Contributing to his success is his keen ability to liaise between the RTM Electric team, consultants, general contractors, and clients. Crystal clear communication is important to Richard to ensure a positive experience is had by all. While not busy at work, Richard loves spending time with his wife and their two kids, showing them how awesome life can be if one works hard. They can also be found snowmobiling, fishing, camping and of course hanging out with their 4-legged buddies!
Troy Lavoie - Estimator | Project Manager
In January of 2013, Troy teamed up with RTM Electric, having a solid electrical background and five years of experience in the construction industry. Troy brought with him a methodical aptitude and a comprehensive understanding of construction. Mixing a systematic estimating approach with his past field experience, Troy, now a certified journeyman, has focused his skills on being an exceptionally accurate and thorough estimator. With his solid comprehension of current technology and willingness to challenge the status quo, Troy leads RTM Electric in streamlining its internal functions. In his time off, Troy enjoys time with his family, camping, and two fur babies. Other times you will find him constantly learning something new or honing his skills doing various woodworking projects.
We had the opportunity to work with Richard and his team on 3 campsite electrification projects within our Region. Term of the contracts were from mid-July to the end of October. RTM had very tight timelines at multiple locations and completed their work on time with efficiency and professionalism.
